Spring 2012 B Day Gardeners Signing off for the year

Its been a great spring semester in the garden with the Bday Kids:

Our B Day Team:
Amaya, Kamorah, Kondalia, Jeffrey, Wyatt, Jeremy, Justin, Alex, Dalante, Russell, Patrick, Dakhota, and MR. Iverson.

Our favorite memory: The Pizza Party in the Teachers Louge

Our Greatest accomplishment: THIS BLOG!!!!!!!! and filling up the beds, planting the giving garden, harvesting food for shelters

Our biggest challenge: the weather! rain, cold

We want to thank all the people that respect the garden, use the garden and help us keep the garden clean and nice.

We especially want to thank Dakhota Gray for all his help and being our big brother from SOTA.

Happy summer!

Pulling weeds is a never ending battle
A group of 14 SAMI Adventures and Applications Students came up and joined us in the garden for a rush of service and help! They pulled weeds with us, picked up litter, harvested food for the food bank, and moved wood chips for our new gate pathways.

S.A.M.I. Delivers Greenhouse Plant Shipment!

We had so many starts that we didn't even plant them all. Additionally, end of the year behaviors outweighed the importance of getting these starts successfully in the ground. It is very very very difficult for Mr. Iverson to accept that some people have to put their own personal interests and mischeif in front of plantign and growing food for shelters and those in need.
Adrianna is planting some Cucumbers.

Tomato plants.

Most of the starts the came in the shipment supply.

Lettuce growing.

A shipment of starts came in today so it was planting, planting, watering, planting today. It contained Tomatoes, Cucumber, etc. What a great way to kick off the week!

Your bloggers,
Adrianna and Megan
Ralph Harrison and Mr. I bring the amazing SAMI Greenhouse starts that they so GENEROUSLY donated to us.

Here is H. Dogg himself with his awesome delivery. THANK YOU SO MUCH SAMI GREENHOUSE!

Pretty Pretty Flower Power

Isn't thursday a good day in the garden? We have so many wild and whacky things growing in the garden. Micaela Cooley came and gave us two very healthy blueberry bushes that we planted right away. We will definitely post photos next week as our battery ran out mid-class today. We will be taking 4 days off of blogging for Memorial Day break. Have a great relaxing weekend and get out and pull those weeds!

Wednesday Weeding Frenzy

Weeding

More weeding

Some plants that are going through great growth.

One of the most poisonous spiders alive; The Daddy Long-Leg
They don't have fangs, so they can't bite humans.
Today consisted of alot of weeding and rain. Neither raining nor weeding is a gardening favorite, so we came inside and took a break off.

Sincerely, Your Bloggers

Jaliyah and Megan!
