Fall 2013 Student Gardener Thoughts

Today we took some time to type out our thoughts about our experiences with the community garden and growing food in general.

Here are our words:

kalysha w

What our garden means to me:
The garden means a lot to me i garden to get anger out,i garden to make my community look better,i garden to make food.

Why gardening is important:
Gardening is important because we need food and want to make a difference in our community.

Why should our community garden more:
Our garden should more because it is a great thing for the community to do to get to know each other and bond in some way.

Jacob. B

Gardening to me means respect.

Gardening is important because you need to eat or you'lll die and some of these genetically modified foods can kill you too.

I think our community needs to garden more because it will help weed out the disrespect.

Daveon C.

What garden means to me:We can get free food and help people without food.

Why gardening is important:Its importanat for are garden to get sun and water all day every day.

Why should our community garden more:We need one more shed so we can put more things in the sheds and one can be the trash shed and one can be the tools shed.

Olivia R.

What the garden means to me: Is that it brings communities together.

Why gardening is important: Gardening is important to me because it brings communites.

Why should our community garden more: People need to eat heathier.

Yovaunna C.
The garden means to me is away to take all your stress out and have a momment of silence after having 6 teachers yelling at you for 5 hours.
Gardening is important because you can feel good after donating food to other people. its away to get good karma. You can also have food to eat with out paying that much.
People should garden more because its less money to spend and its fun thing to do over the summer. You will feel good growing your own food.

Azaziah

garden means less stuff u have to do and also if your angry u can take that anger out on the weeds.

garding is important because u can grow stuff and u dont have to go to the store and spend all that money.

it should more because gardening is useful to grow more and we need to grow the food to put in the stores ps may i rent a garden?

i$aac

What our garden means to me:it means fresh food for people

Why gardening important:heathy food for people

Why should our community garden more:so they don't eat fat foot

Every day I wake up wanting to come to gardening class. Sometimes I'm not the best student but secretly I love coming to this class. I enjoy coming because it is fun. Every day I ask my advisory teacher if I'm coming to your class. The garden is the one time I can let go of my pain.
It is important to learn how to garden because in case of an emergency you will have food that is healthy and not processed. Some people think that it's not an important thing to know how to do. But truthfuly it is.I use to not like to even come to school but now I have a motive to come to school.

 Dajauna

I don't know much about garden, I just started. But I would like to say that gardening means to me that it's something to do if you have nothing to do and it can be peaceful. It means maybe staying out of trouble. Gardening is or can be important because it can give you food. You can do great things with gardening, you can donate, helping out neighbors or your community. Also communities and just people in general should garden because it's a great way to waste some free time. Also gardening can be a great way to get out and do something, like I said before. And that was a couple of my thoughts about gardening.

Kamorah S

I think the garden means to me is our community working together to grow food in our garden. We help other people and our self to grow and water the things people are growing, we also pick up litter and compost things.

Da'Zhana

The garden means alot to me.Also I really love having a fun and amazing class at the end of the day where we can feel completely calm and relaxed. If we had a bad day coming to gardening class makes it a whole lot better. Its great to know that we are helping a cause and helping our community!Gardening is very important. It gets your mind off anything.

Esperansa

The garden means alot to me. I garden because i like to be out side. since ive been in gardening i have realy enjoyed it and i have been fixing up the garden at my house. This class inspired me to do my own garden.
Gardening is important because it can save people money. Also it gets people healthier.
Our community can save money by gardening more. Our community would be alot more beutiful if more people gardened.

sedric f

The garden means alot to me because its for a good cause. Why I think gardening is important is because most food is geneticly modified like seedless watermelon.

william g

The garden is impotant to us.Beacuse a lot of animals live in it.I and other work in the garden for the invirerment. We grow lots of plants in the garden. We take care of the garden and we pull weeds. We made a path way in the garden. We pull oldplants flip the dirt.                                                                                                                                                                        by:WILL-I-AM M.K.G

Sierra W
The garden means a lot to me.I love having a peacful class at the end of the day where we can just feel completely realieved. If our day wasn't that great, coming to gardening class makes it a whole lot better. Its great to know we are doing a great cause and helping our comunity! Gardening is very important. It's just good for your mind and body. I can gaurantee you that you will be more healthier if you eat things out of your garden rather than from the store. Everyone should know how to garden. In my opinion, food from your garden tastes a whole lot better than food from a store. It would be a lot better if our communtity gardened more. We would be more healtier! It will keep less people off of the streets and more focused on better things. Gardening is a great thing and everyone should do it!

Troy A

What our garden means to me:It means to give to charity.

Why gardening is important:We have freah food to eat.

Why should our community garden more:To grow there own food
